Who are Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes was founded all the way back in 1886 as a commission agent for horses trained at Ladbroke Hall in Worcestershire. Up until the mid-1950s Ladbrokes was a bookmaker for the British aristocracy, this changed in 1956 when the firm was bought out for £100,000 by Cyril and Mark Stein who looked to end Ladbroke's specialised approach to bookmaking.

In 1961 the Government legalised betting shops which led to Ladbrokes setting up a large national chain of betting establishments. The company was also the first to offer fixed odds football betting at around this time.

Ladbrokes has been more than just a gambling organisation and has over the years owned Texas Homecare (later sold to Sainsburys) and Stakis Hotels (sold to Hilton).

The company was listed in 1966 with Cyril Stein as Chairman at an inital value of £1 million.  When he retired in 1993 the company was worth £2 billion.

Why choose Ladbrokes?

1. Top Accumulators. When it comes to sports betting, one thing that inspires most of us the chance of winning the big one. That 15 game football accumulator for 150,000 to 1. We've all heard the stories about this happening, and in our, Ladbrokes is set up perfectly to try and hit this jackpot. Accumulators are really easy to place, and you can mix a number of different sports, and they have the financial backing to offer you large win sizes.

2. Great Customer Service. Most gamblers can go through the experience never needing customer support, but when/if you do, it's nice to know that it can be delivered. Ladbrokes offer 24/7 help, and we've always been satisfied with their service.

3. Competitive Odds. Competitive odds are arguably the key factor most punters look for in a betting service, and whilst odds will always vary from market to market, Ladbrokes always ensure that they are in line with the rest of the market. This combined with their intuitive, easy to use site, and wealth of markets available, make them a very attractive option for both recreational punters looking for a bet once in a while, to the more serious gamblers, looking to implement betting strategies and maximise returns.

4. In-play markets and live viewing

Whilst this service isn't quite up to the same level as the bet365 live betting just yet, it's still ahead of the majority of the competition, and includes its very own Ladbrokes TV!

5. Great Payment Processing, Currency Choices and Payment Methods

Ladbrokes was historically a british gambling company, but the site really is set up well for international punts, with payment options in 18 currencies, and a site availbale in 11 different languages and counting...
